Feng Shui Tips for Recreational Vehicles

Many families enjoy taking vacations on the road in their recreational vehicle. Although many people use feng shui principles in their home to improve energy flow and create a more harmonious living area, not everybody realizes that these same principles can be used in an RV. If you have an RV, trailer or other portable living area that you utilize for vacation and travel, take some time to add a bit of feng shui You'll find your next vacation will be more enjoyable and relaxing as a result.

Out with the Old, In with the New

One of the most important things you can do for your RV or trailer is clean it out after every trip, especially at the beginning and end of the vacation season. Old items that are left in the RV can be a drain on positive energy in the living space. Before using your RV, give it a thorough cleaning. Dust all surfaces, clean the windows, and wash the floor. While you're at it, remove anything that clutters the interior space of the RV. Clutter can make it difficult to move around in a small space, and can seriously impede the flow of positive energy. When you look at the floor of your RV, in comparison to the entrance door, you should be able to envision a river flowing smoothly throughout. If you notice any sharp corners or cluttered areas that would stop the flow of the water, you can count on the fact that these areas are also an impediment to positive energy. You should also try to avoid storing anything directly on the floor. Instead, install shelves, hooks, or racks on the walls to hold items.

Basic RV Furniture Arrangement Techniques

Although you may not be able to alter the furniture arrangement in your RV, there are some positive actions you can take if moving furniture is an option. Ideally, your sleeping area should be positioned so that you can see the entrance of the RV, although it should not directly face the door. If you have brought a television along, place it in the living area instead of the sleeping compartment. In the living area, chairs and benches should be placed at right angles to each other if possible. This will create a positive environment for family interaction and communication. Although the kitchen may be small in a recreational vehicle, you should try to put as much space between the stove and refrigerator as possible. Not only will this make the kitchen more energy efficient and easier to work in, but it will also prevent the clashing of the Fire and Water elements.

Living Harmoniously with the Outdoors

One of the positive things about RV living is the fact that you get to enjoy nature. When traveling in a recreational vehicle, open the windows whenever possible to let in fresh air, natural light, and positive energy. When parking your RV for the evening, try to stay as far away from power poles as possible, since the electricity they support can be disruptive to the energy flow as well as to your ability to sleep. Keeping a plant in your RV can also be a nice added touch.
