Affirmations are positive statements to enhance our lives. They are used to assist us in reaching our highest potential. Not only for ourselves, but for those around us and planet Earth. If you are happier in your life, you spread that joy around.
Affirmations are like any other discipline; they must be practiced in order to work. However, they are not effective if the rest of your day is spent saying or thinking negative words. So be most cautious what you are saying or thinking. It creates your life.
Following are important points to know when you perform your affirmations:
- Use the present tense. You want your subconscious mind to feel that it is already happening
- Use the first person when stating your affirmation, as in, "I " or "my"
- Use or create affirmations for your particular issue or goal
- State them with only positive phrases. Never use phrases beginning with negatives such as, I won`t
- Use short, to the point, sentences
- Be specific
- Repeat them often. Using them again and again will embed them into your subconscious mind
- Be passionate as you say your affirmations, and feel the emotion as if you have already accomplished the
affirmation
- Believe in your affirmation and anticipate the success
To be most effective, you should perform your affirmations right after you wake up and just before you drift off to sleep.
